Who I Am
Who am I? I'm a wife, a mom, a Homeschooler--we Homeschooled all the way through and once a Homeschooler, always a Homeschooler:) I'm a believer in Jesus Christ. I'm a blogger, speaker, writer with a passion to help young Christian moms like you have clarity and consistency prioritizing God's unique goals for their home, family, and life.
I want you to know how uniquely-created-by-God you (and your family) are--there's not one other person or family on earth like you! To grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ, to teach you how to raise Godly kids, and to give you the tools and resources you need to prioritize and accomplish God's goals for you--focused, clear, and successful. You can!
I'll help you see God's Hand upon your life every day! Through the wonderful, but also the horrible, days. And the in-between mundane days, the happy, and just-gotta-shake-your-head days, as He writes a wonderful, unique story of His Faithfulness in your life, through every day and trial you go through. I share my own journey and story of being an ovarian cancer survivor, of struggling to love my children, of what it's like to Homeschool all the way through! I share with you what God's taught me about raising Godly kids. By God's grace we've raised our children to adulthood and they are living as adults walking with the LORD. But, let's face it, Christian Parenting is Tough!

How I Will Help You and What You Can Expect
I have a passion to tell you how unique and special you are to God and how important your life is!
I want to share with you the message that God made you one-of-a-kind! Let that sink in! NO ONE like you. God loves you, made you, and made your life unique, in order to use you for His glory. That means He even loves you so much and is so powerful that He can use your awful life experiences, as well as your wonderful ones.
He is Lord over all! Every part of who you are, your personality, your dreams and desires, what you love to do and what you don't, He made it for a reason. Give it all to Him, cuz He's got a plan to bless the world and make a difference through you! That is just the tip of the iceberg of all that's on my heart to share with you. I hope you'll read and connect with me by commenting and letting me get to know you, too, and subscribe, where you'll get even more encouragement, and I can be one-on-one with you.

Marriage Tips from an Imperfect Wife
I surrendered my life to Jesus Christ at 19, met my husband a year later & two years after that we were married! During required pre-marital counseling classes, we took every kind of personality and compatibility test there is, I think. On the resulting graphs, wherever my husband went up, I went way down. Wherever I went up, he went way down. We were complete opposites!
A week before we were to be married, our pastor looked at us and said,,
"You can still change your minds."
With that inauspicious beginning, we celebrated our 42nd anniversary this year, and went on a dream trip to Italy for our 40th anniversary (saving all those mileage points added up!), and had the joy of our son, daughter and son-in-law traveling with us. Because I’ve been there, in marriage, I can help you. It hasn't always been easy, but I've learned things that have helped me. You can have a good, though imperfect marriage!
I have a testimony of victory over bitterness. I've learned how to live with someone who doesn't think like I do haha! Faithfully married for 42 years has given me tips to share with you. Marriage is hard work, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. But, it is so worth it, and a picture to the world of the relationship of Christ and the Church.
I'm blessed to have a husband who loves the Lord, the most important part, and who eventually became the spiritual head of our home and our homeschool! A testimony there, too!
Prayer, Support and Counsel through the Trials
After 7-1/2 years, we were thrilled to welcome our son into our family. Two years later we were very excited to find out that I was again pregnant. And, devastated when we miscarried at 10 weeks. I wrote a poem during that time, called, "My Child Died Today," (shared on sites for those who've lost a child). You may have read it.
We went through a time of not knowing if we'd be able to have any more children, and considered adoption. We were thrilled beyond words to find out we were pregnant again. We were very blessed to have a daughter almost 4 years after our son. The timing of her birth was chosen very specially by God. She was born 8 days after my dad died.
I Will Share About My Trials
We've had trials and many blessings! God has been faithful every step of the way, through Homeschooling both our children from start to finish, and even through being diagnosed with ovarian cancer in 2002 (the football-sized tumor was removed--it turned out they caught it early, I had chemo, and have been cancer-free for 19 years).
Help to Achieve Your Goals
At my heaviest, I was 90 lbs. heavier than I am today. A year after cancer, I began losing 50 lbs, then s-l-o-w-ly began putting it back on again. I didn't gain it all back, but, in 2016 I began losing the 45 pounds I'd gained and got within 5 lbs of my wedding weight by the time of our daughter's wedding! A huge goal achieved, by the grace of God! I have learned a lot through achieving that goal. Goal-setting and Achieving Your Goals have become a theme of mine, so check out these posts:
Subscribe to get all my inside help, whatever your goals are! Let me share the #1 prerequisite to losing the weight you need to, or achieving any goal! I have learned wonderful, helpful, actually life-changing things about what to eat and not to eat, that I would love to share with you, that are allowing me to keep it off, control my appetite and be so much healthier than I've ever been before! Have I got stories to tell you! God has taught me so much through parenting and Homeschooling that I would love to share with you in hopes that you won’t make all the same mistakes I did! Bottom line, it’s by God’s grace that now, we are blessed to have two adult children who love the Lord Jesus Christ, and are walking with Him, and growing in Him.
Our daughter, Kelsey, was married in November, 2017, and lives with her wonderful husband, Daniel, and their Golden Retriever, Lucy, who Kelsey's training to be a therapy dog, in another state about a 9-hour drive away. Yes, we miss them like crazy!
Our son, Dane, is still single and lives and works about 40 minutes away from us. When he’s not working on his house, or the townhouse he owns, which he rents out, or growing herbs to cook in Italian dishes he's making, or traveling, which is one of his passions, we see him often.
How to Homeschool is one of my favorite topics! And, oh, do we love books! I have lots of book recommendations (Thanksgiving Book Recommendations and Read Aloud Character-Building Books for Kids are two of my most-loved posts!). Homeschool Curriculum 101 is another must-read. I will continue to share with you all my best recommendations! Ask me your questions, and if I don’t know, I’ll find out from my network of veteran Homeschoolers! Here is Why I Love Homeschooling and Think You Should, Too!
There is not a moment that we have not needed the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ on this journey, and there won't be one in the future. God has been so faithful. I praise Him for His lovingkindness, which is better than life! I'm so thankful for salvation, which cost God everything, sending His Son, Jesus, to die on the cross for your sins and my sins, raising Him up again to sit at His right hand forevermore, that we might be forgiven, through faith in His finished work on the cross, and resurrection from the dead, and live forever with Him through the faith which He gives.
