Homeschooling, Your Home For God, Help

Thinking of, or are you, Homeschooling?

Are you a new Homeschooler? Or perhaps you’ve been Homeschooling for years. Maybe you’re thinking about Homeschooling for your future, as you parent your toddler and baby? Wherever you are at in this journey, you will find encouragement, and help, here. Homeschooling is a passion for me, and I love to talk about it! Helping and encouraging moms with small children, and who are just starting out in Homeschooling is something I love to do!

Our Story

Briefly, this is our story: My husband and I Homeschooled our children start to finish, (and you can do it, too). We knew nothing about it when we started, except that a friend or two were going to try it. Through research, experience and wonderful mentors God sent our way, we learned, and were used in others’ lives to help, encourage and inform. Starting out in Homeschooling is easy and fun. Continuing and persevering in Homeschooling is not easy, and you will need help and support, and most importantly, you will need to rely on the Lord, and go to your Heavenly Father in prayer daily for guidance and direction, strength and endurance! But, things that make an eternal difference are never easy, nor without obstacles.

What Do You Want Your Life To Be About, In The End?

Do you want your life to count, or will you just pass the days away? Jesus commands us to make disciples, and we are told to raise our children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. We are told in Deuteronomy 6, which are key verses, and even life verses, for many Homeschoolers, to talk to our children when we rise up, when we lie down, when we walk in the way, and when we sit in our houses…

Deuteronomy 6:4-7
Hear, O Israel: The Lord our God is one Lord:  And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might. And these words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:  And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.

How will you obey these commands, if you are not together? The busyness of our lives in this day and age, makes these commands difficult to virtually impossible to accomplish. And Satan is working hard to make it that way, filling our lives with good, but not eternal, busyness. Even for Homeschoolers, this is one of the biggest battles.

Jesus said, “Go and Make Disciples”

Who are our most important disciples? If you are parents, your most important disciples are right in your home! You want to make a difference in this world, as I do. An eternally fruit-filled life that counts for Christ is what your heart yearns for. Well, we can change the world, if we have children, raise them for the Lord, and then, when they grow up, they also live for the Lord, marry, have children, and raise up their children to love and obey the Lord Jesus Christ.

Before you get too excited, remember that this mission of parenting and Homeschooling is not our doing, but God’s. Be encouraged, however, that God desires these desires that you and I have for our children, to love, serve and obey Him, too. We can rely on Him, and He will help us. He is completely faithful. It is my strong desire to be used of God to help you raise your children, and Homeschool them for His glory. Let me know what you’re struggling with. And, if you found this helpful, I’d be very appreciative if you’d share it with someone you know who also needs to hear it. And, subscribe, because that’s where I can connect with you more personally and I try to give out really helpful things every week in my newsletter.
